Flood Hazard Certifications
The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) requires real estate lenders and land use regulatory officials to make accurate identification of the flood hazard status of properties. Waldo & Associates LLC is included on the NFIP's official list of approved flood hazard determination consultants.
Flood Studies – Flood Map Revisions – Flood Insurance Investigations
Waldo has been responsible for the successful completion of flood studies throughout New England. These studies include development of watershed mapping, computation of flow rates, development of water surface profiles and establishment of limits of flooding and floodways. Our experience includes unique applications in river basin modeling, wave runup and coastal hydrodynamic modeling.
Mill River - Amherst, Massachusetts
Waldo served as expert witness in support of a land use regulatory adjudication, developed a successful request for a revision to the floodway delineation and provided complete stormwater management system design for two separate 40,000 square foot industrial buildings in North Amherst on a large parcel of prime commercial land.
Hingham Shipyard, Hingham, Massachusetts
Waldo developed comprehensive coastal flood hazard analysis for the redevelopment of a former federal supply depot and shipyard. The analysis led to a revision of the Flood Insurance Rate Map for the area.
Salem Wharf, Salem, Massachusetts
Waldo provided coastal flood hazard analysis and developed a Flood Insurance Rate Map revision request in support of the development of an expanded high speed ferry service from Salem to Boston.
